dropping into the Custom Hotel just after 2PM we figured we were good to go out and see a bit of LA, rather than just stay cooped up all arvo in the hotel. we decided it was a fantastic day out to just trek down to Venice beach and scope out what California is so famous for, sun sand surf and .... palm tree filled blue skys.
Getting to Venice was great, and really felt like a hollywood Sorrento or Cottesloe. once we hit the beach, we saw how close Santa Monica was and went .... well , we're here are'nt we? might as well do it. so yeh you guessed it, we walked all the way up Venice to the famous Santa Monica Pier, rides, candy and fun all rolled into the Cali lifestyle. Mark has a few photos from this that i'll update and post soon, but below are a few of the shots from the arvo. really chilled and well rested for Mexico, lets hope the rain isn't going to hold us up too much, we expect afternoon daily showers and exhaustive heat, but the mornings will be our time to hit it all.

from what i have seen so far, i am in love with LA. Definately have to go there next July on my trip. i have decided that i am going to have to quit teaching to be able to go on a holiday to the States. 2 weeks clearly is NOT enough time!

Hi, shaun & mark glad to see all has gone well if not better than u expected. pics have been great loved the green shoes tyrone has some but with sculls. what air line do u fly on now?hope u have caught up on sleep will look forward to the next lot of pics and news.

yeh LA definitely was good to us this time round, the people have been fantastic, but then again we are in a totally different area and visiting things we didn't get to last time, real sunday summer feel to it all .... and yet it still gives me the hollywood plastic feel, too many players, too many people trying to be something. good place to stay, i couldn't vacation here personally. give me the bay area.
Green shoes, damn straight, the leprecauns go with me where ever, kinda like, "if my feet are here, then ive been there type shot"
airlines, we fly out with United to Cancun and back in same to SF and SD. off to Canada with Air Canada.
ok currently just woken up in LA day 2, headin out to LAX, will report hopefully when we get back in to Cancun. later skaters.
