hehe we got one just like that at work the other day!

and about the consciousness thing and meditation stuff from your last post i just this moment finished watching a doco/film about the human mind and thoughts and quantum mechanics and so on and so forth.
the film is called "what the 'bleep' do we know?"
and i think it might be something that would really interest you shaun.

it has a lot to do with how the mind works and the age old theory of 'how do you know what you're seeing is reality and not just a dream or memory in your brain' and it goes into how your brain cannot tell the difference between the two (very much along the thinking behind the first matrix film)

also the richard linklater film "waking life"
see it if you havent

and richard bachs "illusions : the adventures of a reluctant messiah"
read it if you havent

it is amazing to hear what people think of the world and how we interact with it or it with us. and how simple changing a thought can be or how it can impact a situation. its or reading or observing things like this that make you feel that much closer to enlightenment and that maybe it is attainable. i feel like i want to know everything there is to know about quantum mechanics and how it can help me understand the universe that much better but where do you start even trying to grasp the idea behing quantum mechanics?!?! (if you have any clue point me at it!)

oh there was a part in the film about how a thought or word written on a bottle of water physically changes the chemical build up of a water molecule. and humans are 90% water so imagine what that could mean!
if you like i could organise you a copy of the film.
anyway i think i have taken up enough of the general publics time tonight! i shall leave you all to it :)
goodnight

Heya Alec,

"I know exactly what you mean. Let me tell you why you're here. You're here because you know something. What you know you can't explain, but you feel it. You've felt it your entire life, that there's something wrong with the world. You don't know what it is, but it's there, like a splinter in your mind, driving you mad. It is this feeling that has brought you here. Do you know what I'm talking about?" .... what will it be, Red or Blue?

hehe for me, im always willing to see just how far the rabbit hole goes.

yup got a copy of "What the Bleep do we know" gotta dig it out and watch it now that you've recomended it. lol cheers mate. i just havent had the spare time as of late. Richard Linklater's film "waking life" i haven't seen, although i know of it as it was the first film to use rotascoping. ie like "A Scanner Darkly"

thanks for your thoughts on all this mate, nice to know someone else out there is rather open minded. alot of us become to comfortable in the daily square. but to take a second and .... question. i feel is important.

good vibes to you, nicole and the baby. i expect updates when im on holiday.

later all

i get a lot of the spiritual and enlightened sort of ideas from my parents mostly.
they are in to a lot of that sort of stuff and growing up with it it kind of rubbed off on me
which as far as im concerned is a great thing!
i feel you get a much better perspective on life and the world rather than a religious mind ( no offense meant)
but religious minds and ideas are so closed minded. its odd.

now that i mention it, theres a part in what the bleep about jesus mentioning how heaven is smaller than a mustard seed, so he had an understanding of the bigger picture. its funny to see how other people writing down someones words can change the meaning totally. and not to mention all the editing of the bible. it would be so interesting to hear what 'jesus' said in his own words to see just how convoluted the bible really is.

anyway thats plenty of rambling for tonight!
baby is 3 months and 8 days away.
